Abide in Me, and I In You

John 15:4-5
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Devotional:
To abide in Christ means to allow His word to fill our heart, mind, and soul; and to direct our will according to His word. To be rooted in Christ requires us to spend time in His word and His presence. When we stay close to Jesus and follow His lead, He equips us to bear the fruit of the Spirit. We first must abide in The Lord and then He’ll abide in us.

Father I would like to thank You for Your promise. John 15:7 - If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. The word of God is true. It shall be done unto you.

As you go throughout your day, try to stay close to Him in your thoughts. It’s when we disconnect ourselves from Him, we become anxious. Be anxious for nothing. God is always connected to us, so we must stay connected to Him.

Prayer:
Father, I thank you for the comfort of knowing that Your presence is ever with us, and for allowing us to constantly abide in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
