Stand Still and See

Devotional Reading: Exodus 14:13-14
"And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace."

Because His thoughts are not ours standing still is your best move. As simple as these instructions were apparently there were some in the congregation that found it a bit challenging. Letting go of the logical or practical can be a daunting task for thinkers, but it’s what faith requires in order to be activated. That’s where He is calling us to. A place of faith. Beloved, that’s where you want to go. Go there.

How ironic, the vehicle God chose to transport His people across the Red Sea was for them to stand still. That gives us to know that His stand still doesn’t look like ours. His stand still is not static or stationary, it’s depending on Him for every move.

Final observation…
Notice that the Father told the Children of Israel exactly what would happen if they were obedient. “If you… then I”.

Stand still and see! Watch God do what He promised.
