Daily Devotional - Seeing Beyond What Is: The Vision - Week 43 - Day 292 - 10/19/26 - "Open the Eyes of My Heart"

Author: Evangelist Jamie Hoffman

“Open the Eyes of My Heart”
Scripture: Ephesians 1:18, NIV

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.”

Devotion:
In today’s Scripture, Paul is praying for the children of God to be able “to see” beyond their natural abilities. He prayed God would open the eyes of their hearts so they could receive the spiritual insight and understanding necessary for them to embrace who they are in God. He lets them know that we all have hope in the calling of God. When we follow God, we can be confident in the plans and purpose He has for our lives and our inheritance in Him.

We cannot allow the distractions of this world to hinder our relationship with God. When we focus on the cares of this world, we become stagnant in our faith. God wants us to trust and rely on His Word. He has to be the only one on the altar of our hearts. When we place our faith and trust in God, we have a blessed assurance that ALL things are working for our good.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for opening the eyes of my heart. I place my faith and trust in You. I receive and accept the plan and purpose You have for my life. I praise You in advance for working all things out for my good. Amen.
