“A Life That Leaves a Trail of Life”
Scripture: Proverbs 11:30

“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.”

Devotion:
Some people walk into a room and drain it. Others walk in and water it. They bring life to the room and changes to the atmosphere. Proverbs 11:30 paints a picture of the kind of person God calls us to be — someone whose life produces fruit that nourishes, strengthens, and brings life to others. Not because we’re perfect, but because God’s righteousness is shaping us from the inside out.

A tree of life doesn’t exist for itself. It exists to shade, shelter, feed, and refresh. Likewise, a righteous life becomes a refuge for weary people, a source of encouragement for discouraged hearts, and a steady witness of God’s goodness.

Then the verse shifts: “He who wins souls is wise.” This isn’t about pressure or performance — it’s about influence. A wise person lives in such a way that others are drawn toward God, not pushed away from Him.

Your kindness can soften a heart.
Your consistency can spark curiosity.
Your compassion can open a door.
Your testimony can plant a seed.

You don’t have to preach to win souls. You just have to live in a way that makes people hungry for the God who changed you. Be the Bible that some will never read.

Prayer:
Lord, make my life a tree of life. Let my words, actions, and attitudes bring strength and encouragement to others. Give me wisdom to influence people toward You, and help me reflect Your heart in every interaction. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
