“Faithful Works”
Scripture: James 2:17

“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”

Devotion:
Today’s Scripture is familiar, but still just as relevant and powerful. Faith is the foundation of what connects us to God. We must believe in Him, and trust Him at His Word. When we have strong faith, our works will line up with our measure of faith. That means, God, I believe You, and I trust You, and while I am waiting for the manifestation of Your Word to come to pass, I’m going to continue to apply my faith and work in the vineyard.

Noah showed his faith through works when he built the ark when there was no rain in sight. Abraham showed his faith by works when he laid his son on an altar, believing God for a ram in the bush. Queen Esther showed her faith by works when she went before the king on behalf of her people, trusting that God would take care of her. I could go on and on, but I will stop there. As believers, our faith will continue to be tested, and we will feel like the situation is too dire to get through, but that’s when we need to tap into God’s power even more.

Prayer:
Lord, help me be formidable in my faith. Allow my works to line up with my measure of faith so that You can get the glory from my life. Thank You Lord! Amen.
