“Be Fruitful”
Scripture: Luke 13:9

“And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.”

Devotion:
Today’s Scripture comes from the parable of the barren fig tree. Jesus, through this parable, is letting us know the importance of living a life of fruitfulness. If we don’t produce fruit, then we will be cut off. God is so merciful that, just like in the parable, He is giving His children time to get connected to Him and be fruitful before His judgement comes.

Jesus is the true and living vine, and we must stay connected to Him if we want to produce good spiritual fruit. The closer we get to God, the more fruitful we become in Him. Furthermore, He can prune and refine us so that we produce even more fruit. The pastor always says God is a God of multiplication and addition. When we have deep roots, we will produce much fruit! God desires us to be fruitful disciples so we can share and spread His Word with others.

Prayer:
Lord, help me stay connected to You so that I can be fruitful. Purge and prune me of anything that does not bring You glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.
