“Purged to Production”
Scripture: John 15:2, AMP

“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that continues to bear fruit, He [repeatedly] prunes, so that it will bear more fruit [even richer and finer fruit].”

Devotion:
Jesus’ words in John 15:2 remind us that fruitfulness in the Christian life is not accidental—it is cultivated. Being “in Christ” connects us to the true source of life, yet growth does not happen without the careful, sometimes uncomfortable, work of pruning. God’s pruning is not a sign of rejection, but of intentional care.

Pruning often feels like loss. God may remove habits, relationships, or comforts that once seemed productive or even necessary. But pruning is never random or harsh; it is precise and loving. What is cut away makes room for deeper growth, stronger faith, and fruit that lasts. “Purged to production” means understanding that God’s refining work is meant to move us forward, not hold us back. The pruning season is not the end; it is preparation for abundance.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for caring enough to prune my life so that I may bear more fruit. Remove anything that hinders my growth and draws me away from You. Let the fruit that grows from my life be rich, lasting, and pleasing to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
