“God’s Requirements"
Scripture: Micah 6:8

“He had shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”

Devotion:
We don’t have any excuse not to live righteously and holy before God. God has given us the gift of redemption through Jesus, the blueprint of His Word to instruct us, and the gift of the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us.

Today’s Scripture focuses on three main things God requires of us. First, God wants us to act justly. That means I choose to do what’s right in every aspect of my life — in how I talk, walk, and treat others. Second, God wants us to love mercy. That means that we show the same love and kindness to others that God has shown to us. We operate in love and not judgement. Finally, we walk humbly with God. That means we lean and depend on God to order and direct our steps in His will for our lives. It also means that I can’t walk with pride. When we are full of ourselves, we leave no room for God to fill us.

Prayer:
Lord, help us do what is right, show mercy, and walk humbly according to Your will for our lives. Give us a heart and a passion to do Your will and walk in obedience to the purpose You have placed in our lives. Amen.
