“Who Do My Works Glorify?”
Scripture: Matthew 5:16, AMP

“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor and] glorify your Father who is in heaven.”

Devotion:
Matthew 5:16 reminds us that our actions speak loudly, often louder than our words. The way we serve, speak, forgive, and love becomes a reflection of the light of Christ within us. Our works are meant to point beyond ourselves and direct attention to our heavenly Father. It is easy to do good works while quietly hoping for praise or approval; however, true righteousness is not about being seen, but about making God known.

Living with this perspective transforms everyday moments. Simple acts of kindness, integrity in difficult situations, and faithfulness in unseen places all become opportunities to glorify God. When our works are fueled by love for Him, they shine in a way that draws others to honor and glorify the Father, not us.

Prayer:
Lord, search my heart and purify my motives. Let my words and actions point others to You, not to myself. May my life be a testimony that causes others to recognize, honor, and glorify You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
