“Chosen by the Savior”
 Scripture: John 15:16
 
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”
 
Devotion:
Jesus reminded His disciples in this Scripture, and it is for us to be aware of today, that our relationship with Him started with His decision, not with ours. Before we were born, Christ had already chosen us, called us, and set us apart for a purpose.

Being chosen by Jesus is not only about being privileged; we have an assignment. I’m not sure about anyone else, but when I think of how God could have chosen anyone else besides me, I cannot help but to Thank Him.  How fortunate and blessed we are, and I thank God that we, His children, answered the Father’s call. So, because we have been chosen, we are to go and bear fruit for Him. We are to let our lives shine to reflect God’s goodness and illuminate love, obedience, and faithfulness so that the world may come to know Him. The fruit that we bear comes by being connected to Him, and when we stay connected to Christ, our lives naturally reflect His character.

If you ever feel overlooked, uncertain, or unqualified, remember that you are chosen by Christ, you are chosen for a purpose, and He has given you the power to live a life that matters eternally.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for choosing us and giving our lives purpose. Help us to abide in You daily so that our lives bear “deep roots and much fruit.”  Align our hearts with Your will and teach us to remain faithful to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
