“From Fear to Faith”
Scripture: Mark 16:8, 10-11

“And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid. And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.”

Devotion:
These verses capture a very human moment—fear, confusion, and even disbelief in the face of miraculous truth. The women who encountered the empty tomb were overwhelmed. Instead of immediate bold proclamation, their first response was trembling silence. Likewise, when Mary Magdalene shared the good news, it was met with doubt.

This passage reminds us that faith is not always instant or easy. Even those closest to Jesus struggled to believe what God had done. Fear can quiet our voices, and doubt can cloud our hearts. Yet, the resurrection was true whether they believed it right away or not.

God is patient with us in our process. He understands that sometimes we need time to move from fear to faith, from confusion to confidence. The same power that raised Christ from the dead is able to strengthen our belief and give us courage to speak and live out the truth.

When we face moments of uncertainty, we can remember that God’s promises are not dependent on our immediate understanding—they remain true. Our role is to keep seeking, trusting, and allowing Him to grow our faith.

Prayer:
Lord, I confess that there are times when I hesitate, when I struggle to fully believe or boldly share what You have done in my life. Strengthen my faith and quiet my fears. Give me the courage to trust You, even when I do not fully understand. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
