“God’s Initiative, Generosity, Love”
Scripture: Ephesians 2:8–9

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Devotion:
Paul’s words in Ephesians 2:8–9 dismantle every human attempt to take credit for salvation. We are saved by grace, not by effort. Grace is God’s initiative, God’s generosity, God’s love reaching toward you long before you ever reached toward Him.

Faith is simply the hand that receives the gift. Works are never the currency that purchases it.

This truth brings deep peace. You don’t have to strive to be “good enough.” You don’t have to fear that one mistake will disqualify you. You don’t have to live under the weight of spiritual performance.

Grace means:

• God knew your weaknesses and still chose you.
• God saw your past and still loved you.
• God understood your limitations and still saved you.
• 
  

And because salvation is a gift, boasting disappears. No one can claim superiority. No one can say they earned more favor. We all stand equal at the foot of the cross — loved, forgiven, and redeemed by grace alone.

Application:

• Pause today and thank God for saving you without conditions.
• Release any guilt-driven or performance-driven mindset.
• When you serve, serve from gratitude — not pressure.
• Extend grace to others the way God extended grace to you.

 
Prayer:
Father, thank You for saving me by Your grace. Help me to rest in Your gift and not in my own efforts. Teach me to walk in humility, gratitude, and confidence in Your love. Let my life reflect the grace I’ve received. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
