“Strengthen Your Heart”
Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 3:13, NIV

“May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.”

Devotion:
In today’s Scripture, Paul is concluding a prayer to the church in Thessalonica to encourage them to remain holy and upright before God. His prayer is that God would strengthen their hearts and keep them so they will be ready when Jesus returns. We can apply this same prayer to our lives today. Each day our prayer should be, Lord create a clean heart in me, and renew a right spirit within me.

We are living in difficult times, and it seems like new headlines arise each day with more bad news. But God! God is able to strengthen and keep us if we submit to and obey His will for our lives. The joy of the Lord is our strength no matter what is going on around us. We can have the peace of God abiding in our hearts if we trust, lean, and depend on Him. God is faithful! We don’t know the day nor the hour when our Savior will return, but we want our hearts to be right so that we can go back with Him.

Prayer:
Lord, please continue to strengthen my heart daily. Help me to keep my mind stayed on You. Let Your love rest, rule, and abide in me. Amen.
