“What’s Inside Will Come Out”
Scripture: Matthew 12:35

“A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.”

Devotion:
Jesus reveals a powerful truth in this verse: what comes out of us reflects what is inside of us. Our words, attitudes, and actions are not random; they are the overflow of what we have stored in our hearts.

Think of your heart as a treasure chest. Whatever you fill it with—truth, grace, bitterness, fear, love—will eventually be revealed. If kindness, faith, and compassion fill your heart, they will naturally flow out. But if anger, jealousy, or negativity take root, they will show up in your life.

Jesus is not just concerned with outward behavior; but He points us deeper—to inner transformation. True change doesn’t begin with trying harder on the outside, but with allowing God to shape what’s within.

Application:

• Take a moment to reflect: What am I consistently storing in my heart?
• Be intentional about what you allow in—your thoughts, influences, and habits matter.
• Fill your heart with things that cultivate life: Scripture, prayer, gratitude, and truth.

Remember: what you deposit in your heart today will shape what flows out tomorrow.

Your words are the echo of your heart—make sure they reflect something worth hearing.

Prayer:
Lord, search my heart and reveal what is within me. If there are areas filled with bitterness, fear, or negativity, help me surrender them to You. Fill my heart with Your truth, love, and grace so that my words and actions reflect You. Transform me from the inside out and help me store up what is good and pleasing to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
