“Peace Is Something You Plant, Not Something You Wait For”
Scripture: James 3:18, NKJV

“Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”

Devotion:
In a world full of tension, quick reactions, and sharp words, James 3:18 reminds us that peace doesn’t just appear. It is planted—one choice, one conversation, one attitude at a time.

Peacemakers are not passive people.
They are gardeners.
They sow deliberately.
They cultivate patiently.
They trust God with the harvest.

Every time you choose gentleness over harshness, listening over arguing, humility over pride, or grace over judgment—you are planting peace. And Scripture promises that those seeds grow into a harvest of righteousness, meaning right relationships, right attitudes, and right outcomes shaped by God.

You may not see the results immediately, but peace planted in faith always produces fruit in time.

Today, you have the power to shift atmospheres, soften hearts, and create space for God to work—simply by sowing peace.

Reflection Questions:

• Where is God inviting me to be a peacemaker today?
• What “seeds” am I sowing with my words, tone, and responses?
• How can I cultivate peace in my home, ministry, or relationships?

Daily Challenge:
Before responding to a difficult situation today, pause and ask: “Will this plant peace or conflict?” Choose the seed that honors God.

Prayer:
Lord, make me a sower of peace. Help me choose words that heal, attitudes that honor You, and actions that reflect Your heart. Let every seed I plant today produce a harvest that brings You glory and draws others closer to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
