“Keep Sowing”
Scripture: Ecclesiastes 11:6
 
“In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.”

Devotion:
This verse encourages us to keep sowing morning and evening, without becoming discouraged by the unknown. It reminds us that we do not always know which of our efforts will succeed, but that should not stop us from being diligent and faithful.

In life, it’s easy to hesitate when results aren’t guaranteed. It reminds me of a plant that I recently received, when I plant it in the soil, I am not sure if it will grow or not.  I will do my best to care for it and trust that it will grow and that the flowers will bloom.  But, I cannot let my uncertainty keep me from planting it. Also, we cannot be hesitant in giving, serving, loving, or stepping out on faith just because we can’t see the outcome. When God calls us to do the work, He does not want us to hesitate. Faithfulness is not about knowing which plant will grow, it’s about trusting God with every seed we plant; both naturally and spiritually.  We must remember that every kind word we speak, every act of obedience we make, every moment we spend doing what is right is a seed. Some of the works that we do may seem small or unnoticed, but nothing done in faith is wasted. Our Father sees it all, and in His perfect timing, He will bring forth growth and harvest.

So as this Scripture teaches us, continue to “sow thy seed in the morning,” and trust that God is working on our behalf.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to be faithful in every season. Teach me to sow seeds of kindness, obedience, and love without fear of the outcome. Strengthen my trust in You so that I will keep sowing, and let me be reminded that You are in control of how things will work out.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
