“Washed by the Word”
Scripture: John 15:3

“Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.”

Devotion:
Jesus tells His disciples something powerful: You are clean because of the Word.
We often think of cleansing in physical terms—but there is another kind of cleansing we desperately need: mental cleansing. Every day our minds collect clutter—worry, comparison, offense, disappointment, noise. If left unchecked, that clutter clouds our thinking and weighs down our spirit.

But the Word washes.

Just as water removes dirt from the body, Scripture removes distortion from the mind. It corrects false narratives. It silences accusing voices. It re-centers our identity. When Jesus speaks, confusion loses its grip and clarity returns.

The Word cleanses by:

• Reminding you who you are in Christ.
• Replacing lies with truth.
• Redirecting your focus from chaos to Christ.

Notice—Jesus did not say, “You will be clean once you perform better.” He said they were clean through the Word He had spoken. Cleansing begins with receiving what He has already declared.

If your mind feels heavy, don’t just scroll—soak. Don’t just vent—open the Word. Let it run over your thoughts. Let it rinse away resentment. Let it flush out fear.

Mental clarity is not found in silence alone—it is found in Scripture.

Today, allow yourself to be washed.

Prayer:
Lord, wash my mind with Your Word. Remove every thought that does not align with Your truth. Cleanse me from mental clutter and help me to dwell in clarity and peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
