“Excellent Gifts”
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 14:12

“Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.”

Devotion:
Every believer has been uniquely gifted by God. God does not give gifts simply to make us look important, spiritual, or accomplished. He gives gifts so that the body of Christ is strengthened, encouraged, and built up. True excellence in the gifts of God is not measured by how impressive they seem to others, but by how effectively they help someone grow in Christ. When we operate from love, humility, and a desire to bless others, the Holy Spirit breathes life into our gifts. Whether the gift is serving, teaching, giving, encouraging, hospitality, prophecy, or leadership, God desires that we use it faithfully and lovingly so His church can flourish.

Today, ask God not just for gifts, but for the maturity to use them well. Seek excellence—not for recognition, but for edification. When we aim to build others up, God multiplies our impact and deepens our effectiveness.

Prayer:
Lord, Thank You for the spiritual gifts You have placed in my life. Give me a heart that seeks excellence for the purpose of building others up. Help me to walk in love, humility, and wisdom, always seeking to edify the body of Christ. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
