“Good Gifts”
Scripture: Luke 11:13, NIV
 
“If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

Devotion:
In today’s Scripture, Jesus is teaching the people about the power of prayer. Jesus is saying if imperfect, sinful, natural parents know how to give their children good gifts, how much more will our perfect heavenly Father give to His children who seek Him. The Scripture lets us know God will fill us with the gift of the Holy Spirit if we seek His face and ask Him. We have access to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit through the gift of salvation.

I will never forget the night when I was filled with the Holy Spirit. I was at a revival, and when the spirit filled me, I felt like I could fly, and my body felt like it was light as a feather. I was so caught up in the goodness of God’s glory that I didn’t want to come back down. I couldn’t control myself, and the joy that filled my heart overflowed. There is nothing like the power of God’s Spirit and being in His presence. How blessed we are that we get to have a personal relationship with God and be filled with the precious gift of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. We give Your name the praise, the glory, and honor that is due to You. Amen.
