“Sing Like a Bird”
Scripture: 1 Chronicles 16:8

“Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.”

Devotion:
Growing up in my area, I used to hear people say, “sing like a bird.” They usually mentioned it when talking about situations where they would be in trouble, and if someone asked them to tell what happened, they would tell everything they knew; in other words, sing like a bird. I asked for an explanation and was told that a bird doesn’t care about when, where, or how; if they have a song to sing, they are going to sing it no matter what. When looking at today’s Scripture, it reminds me of this saying. Because God has been so good, we should call His name and tell all of the marvelous things He has done for us. We should sing like a bird and leave nothing out. Who knows, there may be someone who needs to hear how God brought you out because they are going through the exact same thing. So, don’t be ashamed or afraid. Call His name and tell of ALL His goodness to anyone that has an ear to listen. Sing like a bird!

Prayer:
God, we thank You for Your good deeds toward us. We know that we owe You all the praise of thanksgiving. Help us to remember to tell of all the marvelous things You have done, so others can experience the joy in their hearts as well. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
