“My Protector”
Scripture: Psalm 28:7, NLT

“The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.”

Devotion:
Whether we want to admit it or not, many of us have things that we fear. For example, I am deathly afraid of snakes and mice. Can’t stand to even see them on television. While that is a real fear I have, I know that it does not have anything to do with my faith in God. There are other things that we can be fearful of, much bigger than anything we could ever imagine. But guess what, we don’t have to cower down to those things! Why? Because God is our strength and shield. This means He is our protector from all things that could hurt or hinder us. Because He is our Protector, our trust should be in Him and only Him. He has proven Himself as our protector time and time again, which causes our hearts to be overjoyed with praise and thanksgiving. He is an amazing God who protects and strengthens us for anything we may face.

Prayer:
Father God, we thank You for Your protection. You are our strength and shield from anything that could harm us. Help us to continue to put our trust in You alone. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
