“Giving Thanks for God’s Nearness”
Scripture: Psalm 75:1, AMP

“We give thanks and praise to You, O God, we give thanks, For Your [wonderful works declare that Your] name is near; People declare Your wonders.”

Devotion:
In this verse, the psalmist declares gratitude not only for what God has done but for the assurance that His name is near. His “name” represents His character, His power, and His presence among His people. When we pause to reflect on God’s “wonderful works”—His faithfulness, His mercy, His provision—we are reminded that He is not distant or uninvolved. Every answered prayer, every moment of peace in chaos, and every display of grace is evidence that God is close.

This kind of thanksgiving is deeply relational. It’s not limited to moments of abundance; it flows from the awareness that God walks with us through every circumstance. Even when life feels uncertain, we can give thanks because His presence never leaves us. So today, let your thanksgiving rise from the knowledge that the Lord is near. His hand is at work in ways seen and unseen.

Prayer:
Lord God, I thank You and praise You, for You are good and Your presence is near. Your works declare Your greatness, and Your faithfulness surrounds me every day. Thank You for never leaving me and for showing Your hand in both the big and small details of my life. Help me to live with a heart full of gratitude, always aware of Your nearness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
