“Rooted and Overflowing”
Scripture: Colossians 2:6–7, NIV

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”

Devotion:
Faith isn’t a one-time decision—it’s a daily walk. Paul reminds us that receiving Christ is just the beginning. We’re called to grow deep roots in Him, like a tree planted by living water. Being “built up” means letting God shape our character, strengthen our convictions, and stretch our capacity to love. And as we grow, gratitude should overflow—not as a duty, but as a natural response to His grace.

• What does it mean to be “rooted” in Christ in your daily life?
• How are you being “built up” in this season—through challenges, learning, or relationships?
• What are you overflowing with today: stress, joy, gratitude, or something else?

Find one way to “overflow with thankfulness”—write a note, send a message, or speak a word of encouragement that reflects your gratitude for what God is doing in your life.

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for being the foundation of my life. Help me to grow deeper in You, to be strengthened in faith, and to overflow with thankfulness. Let my life reflect Your love and truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
