“The Promise of His Presence”
 Scripture: Joshua 1:9

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

Devotion:
In this verse, the Lord was encouraging Joshua after Moses had died. God was calling Joshua to step into a leadership role and lead the people into the Promised Land. We could only imagine that this was a gigantic role. He was facing a great responsibility, uncertainty, and he knew from experience the difficult people that he would be leading. God gave Joshua a command, not a suggestion, to be strong and courageous; and then He made him a promise that He will always be with him.

Whatever we are going through today, we have to trust in God because He knows.  We can’t trust in our own confidence, because that will waiver - we have to trust in God-confidence. Strength and courage don’t come from our own ability, but it comes from the assurance of God’s presence. God doesn't promise it will be easy, but He promises we won't face it by ourselves.  During this Breast Cancer Awareness month, remember that God wants us to trust Him.  For those who may have fear of being examined or may have received a negative report, Trust God! He is in Control, and whatever you may be facing – because fear of the unknown will creep in, I am a witness that He is Able and He will bring you out. God’s presence is greater than our fear!

Prayer:
Lord, help us to walk in courage today, not because we have all the answers, but because we know You are with us. Strengthen us to trust that You will never leave us alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
