“Good News”
Scripture: Mark 16:15, NLT

“And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.”

Devotion:
When good things happen to us, we tend to want to tell others about it. Not because we want to boast, but rather we are overjoyed by what has happened and we want others to share in that good feeling as well. This applies to the natural aspect of life but also the spiritual as well. I remember as a child, the choir at my home church used to sing a song that said, “said I wasn’t gonna tell nobody but I couldn’t keep it to myself, what the Lord has done for me.” I’ve been in situations just like this. Overthinking that people wouldn’t be overjoyed just as I was for the favor and blessings of God in my life, but ended up telling it because it was nobody but God. Today’s text encourages us to do this very thing. To go out and tell others about the good news of God’s saving grace. When we try to keep our mouths closed, it never works because the goodness of God is what leads men to repentance. So be encouraged brothers and sisters, to share the good news of God no matter what. Someone needs to hear your testimony of how God brought you out!


Prayer:
Jesus, we thank You for all of Your bountiful blessings that You have given to us. Help us to continue to spread the good news of Your powerful saving grace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
