“Stand!”
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:58, NIV

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

Devotion:
Donnie McClurkin came out with a powerful song some years ago with lyrics that said, “after you’ve done all you can, you just stand.” The song has continued to be a true classic as it is still sung in many churches today. The Scripture text admonishes us to stand firmly in our faith in God; to continue working for God and His kingdom, because it is not for nothing. So many times we find ourselves in circumstances and situations that could cause us to stumble and our faith to slip, but we must remember where our help comes from and that it’s our faith that will continue to keep us. When we stand firmly on the promises of God, it makes it easier for us to do the work of God because we know that He will come through every time. Stand and don’t let anybody or anything move you or your faith!

Prayer:
God, we thank You for Your unprecedented victories. We know that You are the undefeated champion. Help us to remember that as long as we stand in our faith in You, You will always come through, and our work for You won’t be for nothing. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
