“Taste and See”
Scripture: Psalm 34:6-8

“This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”

Devotion:
In the painful, hidden world of domestic violence, trust is often shattered. People who were supposed to protect, instead harm. Promises are broken. Love is distorted. And for many survivors, it's hard to believe in anything—let alone a good God—after so much pain. When someone suffering in silence cries out—even with just a whisper of hope—God responds. He does not look away. He hears, He cares, and He comes near.

To those who feel alone, afraid, and vulnerable—God is surrounding you. His presence is not just in a church building or far-off heaven—it is right there in your place of pain. He stands with you, guards you, and walks with you through the valley. This verse is an invitation to try—to reach out and experience God’s goodness personally. Not because everything is fixed overnight, but because He brings peace even in the storm, and healing even when the wounds feel deep. Taste and see for yourself—HE IS GOOD.

Prayer:
Lord, Thank You, that we can taste and see that You are good. Help Your Church to be a place of safety and healing, not silence and shame. May we be a voice for the voiceless and a refuge for the hurting. Give us courage to listen, to speak up, and to love well. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
