“It’s All Good in God”
Scripture: Romans 8:28

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Devotion:
For survivors, Romans 8:28 can be a difficult verse to understand. How can all things—even abuse, trauma, and betrayal—possibly work together for good? Let’s be clear: God is not the author of violence. But this verse does not say all things are good—it says that God works all things together for good. In the hands of a faithful and loving God, nothing is wasted. He is the only One who can take the ashes of abuse and bring beauty, who can take broken pieces and build something strong and whole again. That doesn’t erase the pain- it redeems it.

God sees you. He hasn’t abandoned you. And in His time, and in His way, He is working it all together for good. That good might look like restored identity, renewed strength, a voice to help others, or simply the peace you thought you’d never feel again. Whatever the journey looks like, you can walk it knowing this: It’s all good in God.

Prayer:
Lord, You are the One who turns mourning into joy, who brings purpose from pain, and who works all things—even the darkest things—for the good of those who love You. Thank You that You are always working. Thank You that in You, it’s all good because You are good. In Jesus Name, Amen!
