“Peace in the Midst of Trials”
Scripture: John 16:33

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

Devotion:
Domestic violence brings unimaginable tribulation. It turns homes—places meant to shelter love—into battlegrounds of fear. But Jesus, in His final words to His disciples before the cross, gives a promise that still speaks today: “In Me ye might have peace.” This peace is not dependent on outward circumstances. He doesn’t minimize suffering—He names it. He doesn’t deny evil—He overcomes it.

Your suffering is not invisible to God. Jesus knows betrayal. He knows injustice. He knows what it is to be hurt by those close to Him. Yet, He declares: “Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” This victory is not just for eternity—it breaks into our lives now. He is present with the broken. Jesus’ words are also our calling: to be vessels of His peace in the midst of tribulation. We must not turn away from painful stories but walk alongside them, offering safety, dignity, and unwavering love.

Prayer:
Lord, You spoke of peace in the middle of pain. You promised that though this world would bring tribulation, You have overcome it. Let Your peace reign where chaos once ruled. Let Your light break through every darkness. And let every survivor know they are seen, loved, and never alone. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
