“Perfect Vision”
Scripture: Habakkuk 2:2-3, NIV
 
“Then the Lord replied: Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.”
 
Devotion:
I started a New Year’s tradition in my family about five years ago. I am sure my family initially thought I was being extra, but like all my holiday traditions, they warmed up to it. This one was no exception. Each year we decorate and create vision boards as a family, and we share our goals for the upcoming year and reflect on our past goals. It’s always a blessing when we can congratulate each other on an accomplished goal. Vision is not only what we naturally see, but is also foresight to see past our current circumstances. We walk by faith, and not by sight!

In today’s Scripture, God is instructing the Prophet Habakkuk to write the vision He has given him plainly, and wait on the Word to be fulfilled, trusting Him it will come to pass. The central theme of today’s Scripture is obedience in receiving God’s Word, obedience in delivering God’s Word, and faith in waiting on God’s Word to come to pass. If God said it, it will surely come to fruition. If God has given you a word on today, you can rest assured that it will be fulfilled. Hold firm in your faith and watch God do it!

Prayer:
Lord, help us trust the vision and the plans You have for our lives. Order and direct our steps so that our goals line up with Your will for our lives. Amen.
