Daily Devotional - Vision - Week 41 - Day 281 - 10/8/25 - "Don't Fear"

"Don't Fear!”
Scripture: Acts 18:9-10, NIV
 
“One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: ‘Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent for I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.”
 
Devotion:
Unnatural fear is a trick of the enemy because it will cancel our faith if we let it. In today’s Scripture, Paul felt fear as he evangelized in the corrupt city of Corinth. Paul, whom God converted and used, still had moments of weakness and needed God’s reassurances to help him fulfill his purpose. Today’s Scripture lets us know we are all susceptible to moments of weakness‌.

God visits Paul in a vision and tells him don’t be afraid and to remain steadfast in speaking His Word. He encourages Paul not to let fear silence his voice, and He reassures him not only of His keeping power but also to take courage because He had fellow saints in the city. Basically, God let Paul know if they try to step to you and attack, don’t worry; I have a crew willing and ready to cover you.

If we look around at the state of this world, we could easily get discouraged because it seems corruption is everywhere. But God! God wants us to do just what He told Paul. Don’t fear, speak His Word, and know that He is with us. God is all-powerful. When it seems like darkness is trying to take over, we as the children of God must be steadfast in our faith by interceding and letting God’s light shine through us.

Prayer:
Lord, help us rebuke fear and trust in You in all things. Help us speak Your Word with power and authority, rebuking the lies, tricks, and traps of the enemy. Amen.
