“Goodness and Love”
Scripture: Psalm 23:5-6, NIV

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

Devotion:
When we operate from a place of victory, we know that no matter what we face, God is in control, and He is working ALL things out for our good. Today’s Scripture lets us know God is so good and that He will bless His children right in the presence of their enemies. God does not stop there. He anoints us with His oil and our cups overflow, which means He gives us more than we can hold. He fills us with His power and strength so that it can overflow to someone else and bless them. Then, the Word lets us know that God’s goodness is following us for the rest of our lives, and we will dwell with Him forever.

I don’t know about you, but that’s something to get excited about this morning. I am sitting at a table prepared by God, if you can just imagine with me with your spiritual eyes, a five-course meal of blessings prepared just for you to feast on. Then, I am receiving those blessings in front of my enemies; you know they are angry and big mad now. On top of that, God anoints my head with oil. I am being blessed so well that my cup is spilling over onto someone else. Then God turns right around and allows His goodness and love to chase me down, and I get to be in His presence forever! That’s enough to make me shout ‌this morning! Thank You God, for Your goodness and love!

Prayer: 
Lord, thank You for Your goodness and Your love toward me. Help me be obedient to the purpose You have placed in me and operate from a place of victory. Amen.
