“Whistle While You Work”
Scripture: Luke 19:13

“And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.”

Devotion:
This verse comes from the parable of the ten minas, where Jesus illustrates the responsibility of His followers while awaiting His return. The word “occupy” here doesn’t mean to sit idly—it means to engage, invest, and steward what God has entrusted to us.

Each servant received a portion of resources, and the master expected them to use it wisely. In the same way, God has given each of us gifts, time, relationships, and opportunities. The question is: Are we using them for His glory?

“Occupy till I come” is a call to action. It’s a reminder that faith isn’t passive, it’s active. We’re not just waiting for Christ’s return; we’re working, building, loving, and serving in His name. Whatever vision you’ve written down, now is the time to pull it out, review it, and get to work. Let’s whistle while we work. Payday will come after a while.

Prayer:
Lord, help us to be faithful with what You’ve given us. Teach us to invest our time, talents, and resources in ways that honor You. May we live with purpose, knowing that everything we do matters in Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name Amen.
