“Rejoice in Your Name”
Scripture: Luke 10:20

“Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”

Devotion:
Jesus had just sent out seventy disciples, and they returned thrilled by their spiritual victories. They had cast out demons and performed miracles. But Jesus lovingly reminded them: Don’t rejoice in power—rejoice in belonging.

This verse is a powerful reset. It tells us that our deepest joy shouldn’t come from what we do for God, but from what God has done for us. Our names are written in heaven—not because of our achievements, but because of His grace. There isn’t a song I can sing or a lesson I can teach that can get my name in the Book of Life. It’s all because of Him, that my name is there.  Because of the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

It’s easy to get caught up in success, recognition, or spiritual experiences. But Jesus says: The greatest miracle is that you are known, loved, and eternally secure in Me. And that is what we should rest in. Never in what we do, but for what He’s already done.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You that my name is written in heaven. Help me to find joy not in accomplishments, but in Your love and salvation. Keep my heart anchored in the eternal, not the temporary.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
