“The Lord Rejoices over Us!”
Scripture: Zephaniah 3:17
 
"The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing."
 
Devotion:
In this Scripture, we are assured of God's deep love and personal care for us, His people. We serve a God who is near, mighty to save, and who delights in us.  In this world that we live in which is full of rejection, insecurity and fear, this verse reminds us that we are seen, sung over and safe in God’s love.

Can you imagine God singing over you? He doesn’t do it because He has to, but because He really has unconditional love for us – that Agape Love! We are His creation, and He truly delights in us.  We should live our lives with confidence, knowing that we can rest in our Father’s arms and trust in His promises. He promised to never leave us nor forsake us, to be with us through troubles, to give us strength, power and peace.  Psalm 34:18 says, The Lord is close to those with broken hearts and crushed spirits, offering comfort and salvation. What a Mighty, Loving God we serve!

Prayer:
Lord God, Thank You for being near to us, not just in the good times, but in every moment of our lives. We thank You for being mighty to save, and tender enough to rejoice over us with Your love. Forgive us when we find it hard to believe that You rejoice over us, and help us to live in the confidence of Your love for us. Show us how to find rest in Your presence, knowing that You love us deeply. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
