“Let Everything Praise the Lord”
Scripture: Psalm 150:1-6

"Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord."
 
Devotion:
 Psalm 150 is the final chapter in the book of Psalms. It is a reminder to us of our ultimate purpose, which is to glorify God. The main theme in this Psalm is written in every verse “Praise Him, Praise the Lord” which lets us know the importance of our praise to our wonderful and magnificent Lord and Savior. It lets us know that we ought to praise Him for His Mighty acts and according to His excellent greatness.  Our God is worthy of our praise not just because of what He’s done, but because of who He is. I praise the Lord because of who He  is (and He is my All and All!) Notice the Word says “Let “every thing” that has breath praise the Lord”; that includes every living and breathing thing.

The Psalm also lets us know that we can praise God in any place and at any time; not only in the sanctuary; praise should be a part of our lifestyle. We are called to praise the Lord with the sound of different instruments or just with our breath. When we worship and praise Him, we take our eyes off of our problems and place them on His greatness. Praise can also refocus our hearts, renew our minds, and strengthen our spirits. Praise is powerful! Give praise to the Lord always!

Prayer:
Father God, we thank You and praise You for being so great.  Help us to be intentional when we are praising You, because You are worthy of all praise, not just for what You’ve done in our lives, but for who You are. Help us to praise You with all that we have, not only with our words, but our actions, our thoughts, and in our daily walk. All the glory, honor and praise belong to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
