“Pray and Then Leave It There!”
Scripture: Philippians 4:6-7, NLT

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

Devotion:
The gospel artist, J. Moss, came out with a song some years ago called, “Don’t Pray and Worry.” In the lyrics, the song says, “just pray and then leave it there.” When reading today’s text, I am reminded of these simple words. We, as people of God, should already know that God has our best interests in mind. When we have trials and tribulations, instead of worrying about them, we should tell God all about it, and leave it right there. Why? Because when you leave it to God to handle, you are able to experience the peace of God. He protects our hearts and minds so we can continue on with our lives. He is able to handle any situation that comes up. So our worry and anxiety doesn’t stand a chance against the peace of God. So much so, it will blow your mind and go against everything you THINK should happen. What a comforting notion that if we pray and just leave our cares there, God will provide the peace of heart and mind that we desperately need, no matter what the situation may be.

Prayer:
Father God, we thank You for Your infinite wisdom. Knowing that You will give us peace of mind and heart in every situation is such a comforting feeling. All we have to do is tell You all about our problems, and leave it right there on the altar. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
