“Rooted and Grounded in Love”
Scripture: Ephesians 3:17-19, NIV
 
“so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of the fullness of God.”
 
Devotion:
Jesus is the true vine, and we are the branches. The key is we have to stay connected to Him. Today’s Scripture lets us know that if we stay rooted, grounded, and established in the love of Jesus Christ, then we will have the power to comprehend the dimensions of His love for us and be filled with the measure of the fullness of God.
I don’t have the words or the intellectual ability to articulate the vastness of Jesus’ love for us. However, if someone were to ask me, I would say Jesus’ love for us is so wide that it covers and spreads over the entire earth with redeeming blood that flows and brings forth new life. His love is so long that it reaches down from generation to generation and exists through eternity. His love is so high that He ascended back to heaven and is preparing a place for us to join Him, and He sent us the gift of the Holy Spirit from on high to empower us to overcome this flesh. His love for us is so deep that it reached down from glory to this sinful world and took these bodies made of dirt and washed them until they became brand new. I could go on and on, but I will stop here. I am so glad I am rooted and grounded in Christ’s love for me, and I pray that the foundation of that love continues to grow daily.

Prayer:
Lord, help us stay rooted and grounded in the love You have for us. Empower us to show and be an example of Your love for everyone that we encounter. Amen.
