“Commit Your Works to the Lord”
Scripture: Proverbs 16:3

“Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.”

Devotion:
This verse is a gentle but powerful reminder: when we entrust our plans, projects, and daily tasks to God, He brings clarity and direction to our thinking. The Hebrew word for “commit” literally means to “roll” or “transfer”—as if we’re rolling the weight of our work off our shoulders and onto His.

It’s not just about asking God to bless what we’ve already decided. It’s about surrendering our intentions before we begin, inviting Him to shape both our actions and our mindset. When we do this, our thoughts—our strategies, decisions, and even our desires—become aligned with His will.

This is a devotion for planners, dreamers, and doers. Before you dive into your day, pause and roll it all onto Him.

Application:

• Begin your day by naming your tasks and surrendering them to God in prayer.
• When you feel overwhelmed, pause and “roll” the burden back to Him.
• Journal how God has brought clarity or peace when you’ve committed your work to Him.

Prayer:
Lord, I commit my work to You today—my plans, my responsibilities, and even my uncertainties. Align my thoughts with Your wisdom. Establish my steps so that everything I do reflects Your purpose and brings You glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
