“Eternal Nourishment”
Scripture: John 6:27

“Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.”

Devotion:
Jesus challenges us to shift our focus from temporary satisfactions to eternal sustenance. The “meat which perisheth” represents all the fleeting things we chase—money, status, comfort. But He invites us to labor for the “meat which endureth unto everlasting life”—the spiritual nourishment found in Him.

This isn’t a call to abandon work or responsibility, but to reorient our priorities. What are we truly laboring for? Is it something that will fade, or something that will last forever?
Jesus, sealed by the Father, is the only source of eternal life. When we seek Him, we’re not just fed—we’re fulfilled.

Application:

• Reflect on what you’re striving for today. Is it eternal or temporary?
• Spend time in scripture or prayer before beginning your day’s tasks.
• Share with someone what it means to seek the “meat which endureth.”

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, help me not to labor for things that fade away. Teach me to hunger for Your Word, Your presence, and Your truth. Let my heart be set on eternal things, and may my work reflect Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
