“From Taking to Giving”
Scripture: Ephesians 4:28, NIV

“Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.”

Devotion:
This verse isn’t just about stopping bad behavior—it’s about transformation. Paul paints a picture of someone who once took from others, now becoming someone who gives. That’s the power of grace: it doesn’t just clean up the past—it builds a new future.

God calls us to live with purpose. Work isn’t just about earning; it’s about creating, contributing, and blessing others. When we use our hands for something useful, we reflect God’s image as a Creator and Provider. And when we share with those in need, we reflect His heart.

This verse reminds us that true repentance leads to restoration—and generosity is one of its fruits.

Application:

• Reflect on how your work—paid or unpaid—can be used to bless others.
• Look for someone in need today and find a way to share time, resources, and encouragement.
• Ask God to show you areas where He wants to transform your habits into holy purpose.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the work You’ve given me to do. Help me to use my hands and my time for good. Transform my heart so that I don’t just live for myself, but for others. Make me a giver, not a taker, and let my life reflect Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
