“Serving Jesus in the Small Things”
Scripture: Matthew 25:40, NIV

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

Devotion:
Sometimes we wonder if our small acts of kindness really matter. A quiet prayer, a shared meal, a gentle word—can these simple things truly reflect God’s heart? Jesus answers with a resounding yes. When we serve others, especially those who are overlooked or hurt, we’re serving Him directly.

This verse reminds us that Jesus is present in the needs around us. He identifies with the hungry, the lonely, the sick, and the imprisoned. Every time we show compassion, we’re not just helping a person—we’re honoring the King.

You don’t need a platform to make an impact. You need a heart that sees Jesus in others.

Application:

• Look for one “least of these” moments today—someone who needs encouragement, help, or a listening ear.
• Reflect on a time when someone served you in a small but meaningful way. How did it reflect Christ?
• Challenge yourself to serve without expecting recognition—just as if you were serving Jesus Himself.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, help me to see You in the faces of those around me. Give me a heart that serves with joy, even in the small things. Let my kindness be a reflection of Your love and remind me that every act of compassion is a gift to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
