“Supplied to Serve”
 Scripture: 2 Corinthians 9:8, NIV
 
“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
 
Devotion:
Sometimes we have days in our lives when we become uneasy when asked to give of our time, resources, or our energy. Questions may come to our minds such as: What if I run out? What if my family’s needs aren’t met? Or - Who can I turn to?  However, Paul’s words to the Corinthians spoke directly into that fear. His words are written for us as a reminder that God can and will provide all that we need.  He does not run out; He is the God of the overflow. When we open our hands, God doesn't leave us empty, He fills us again if we ask Him. And when He provides, it is more than we can imagine.  God’s provision isn’t about gaining only for ourselves, we are to help serve others without that fear and lack of necessities.

We must trust in His provision and abound in “every good work”, letting our hearts overflow with gratitude and compassion for others, because as we follow Christ, others will see Him through us!

Prayer:
Father, we thank You for being the God of abundance. Not only do You meet our need, but You supply our need, to bless those in need. Help us to trust You more, even when we feel that we have reached our limit. Help us to give with generous hearts and have faith knowing that You are the source of everything that we need. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
