Daily Devotional - The Work Continues - WK33 - 8/15/25 - Day 227 - "Keep Hope Alive"

“Keep Hope Alive!”
Scripture: 1 Timothy 4:10, NIV

“That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.”

Devotion:
I’m not exactly sure where the saying comes from, but I have heard it throughout my life; “keep hope alive!” Most times when I have heard it, there was a sense of urgency and motivation attached to it; to encourage the hearers to keep going in spite of what they see or experience. Today’s text serves as a great example of this urgent motivation. Paul is encouraging Timothy to hold fast to the things of God and continue to hope in God. This can be easily applied to our own lives. Our hope is built on Christ and in Christ, so no matter the situation or circumstance, He has us. The moment we lose hope, or hope dies, we lose focus and our consciences become sealed just as Paul mentioned earlier in the chapter. It is of the utmost importance that we continue to strive and work towards the hope that we have in Christ. In other words, KEEP HOPE ALIVE!

Prayer:
God, thank You for being our one true Savior. We know that it’s in You that we have all hope for better. Please continue to strengthen us as we strive and labor for greatness in You, that our hope never dies! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
