“Do the Right Thing”
 Scripture: Psalm 106:3, NIV
 
“Blessed are those who act justly, who always do what is right.”
 
Devotion:
Today’s scripture comes from Psalm 106, which details the history of Israel’s disobedience to God and lack of gratitude to Him despite His blessings and deliverance. We know that Israel did not always do what was right, yet God continually showed them grace and mercy in the face of their unfaithfulness. Israel literally walked across a dry sea safely and saw their enemies washed away by that same sea. Yet they still doubted God could take care of them in the wilderness. The same can be said of us today. God is still showing us His love by giving us the opportunity to trust Him at His word and choose to do what’s right. Paul let us know in Ephesians 6 that we are fighting a spiritual battle, not one of flesh and blood. But we are not fighting it on our own. God has given us powerful weapons to enable us to stand against the lies, tricks, and traps of the enemy. We can’t be just and right in our own strength and power; however, with the power of the Holy Spirit and the weapons God has given us, we can strive to live a life that is holy and acceptable to God.  

Prayer:
Lord, help us! Help us rely on Your power and strength to do what is right before You daily. Above all, help us crucify our flesh daily so Your spirit lives in us the more. Cleanse and wash us from the inside out. Help us live a life that is holy before You. Amen.
