"Joy in the Midst of Shame"
Scripture: Acts 5:41, NKJV
 
"So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name."

Devotion:
Imagine being publicly rebuked, threatened, and humiliated—yet leaving with a heart full of joy. That's what happened to the apostles. Their unwavering commitment to Christ stirred hostility, but rather than shrink back, they found honor in their suffering.

This verse flips our understanding of shame and worthiness. The apostles weren’t rejoicing because they escaped punishment—they rejoiced because they were identified with Jesus in His suffering. To be “counted worthy” meant they were walking so closely with Him that the world pushed back in rejection, just as it did with Him.

Today's Challenge:
Think about one area where standing for Christ might bring discomfort—maybe in a conversation, a decision, or a relationship. Choose boldness today, knowing that when the world frowns, Heaven smiles.

Prayer:
“Lord, help me to embrace Your name even when it costs me comfort. Remind me that being called Yours is an honor, even when it brings rejection. May I find joy in every moment You allow me to reflect You.”  In Jesus’ name. Amen.
