Daily Devotional - Times of Refreshing - WK28 - 7/10/25 - Day 191 - "Good Job"

“Good Job!”
Scripture: Matthew 25:21 NLT

“The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!”

Devotion:
When I was given the younger students, I had to learn to celebrate every achievement the young learners accomplished. This helped them stay motivated and empowered to keep going, because they knew I was in their corner rooting for them. One of the affirmations I would say to them was, “G-double O-D, J-O-B, Good Job, Good Job!” I said it so much that the learners memorized it and would sing it to each other as well. Looking at the face of the recipient of the affirmations, one could see that they were beaming with pride and felt like a hero. This feeling is one that we all have experienced at least once. We all need to know that we are in fact doing a good job. Today’s Scripture presents this example. The servants handled their business and completed their task. They did a good job, and was affirmed by their master. Not only that, but the master blessed and celebrated with them. This is just like God. When we are faithful in what He has called us to do, and use wisdom to execute our purpose well, God affirms, blesses, and celebrates with us! Knowing that God is pleased with our work is the highest compliment we can ever achieve!

Prayer:
God, You are the ultimate master. Thank You for affirming our work, blessing us, and celebrating with us. Knowing that we are pleasing You is the ultimate goal. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
