“Joyful Blessings”
Scripture: Deuteronomy 12:7, KJV

“And there ye shall eat before the Lord your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the Lord thy God hath blessed thee."

Devotion:
Every now and then, I find myself doing a little self-reflection about just how good God has been to me. It doesn't take much for me to get excited and begin praising God, because He has been just that good. When I was younger, my mom would call us all together for family prayer, and eventually that prayer would turn into a praise and worship session. If I had a friend over, they had to join the prayer as well. I used to marvel at how long she would pray and give God the praise and thanks. I used to be embarrassed or want her to hurry up, but now I find myself doing the same thing in my home. God is worthy of ALL the praise, the glory and the honor!

Today’s Scripture encourages the people of God to rejoice and be glad because God is good. When we take the time to focus on the goodness of God and what we have, instead of worrying about what we lack, I am sure we can all say that God has been better than good to us. “The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.” (Proverbs 10:22 KJV).

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being so good to us. Help us trust and depend on You in every area of our lives and rejoice in You always. Amen.
