“Glorify God”
Scripture: 1 Chronicles 16:10 KJV

“Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.”
 
Devotion: 
The context for today's Scripture is the return of the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. The people rejoiced and praised God, because the Ark of the Covenant was a symbol of God’s presence returning to them. They were excited and happy, so they glorified God. We don’t have a symbol of an ark today, but we have something greater, a risen Savior who made the ultimate sacrifice for us to be redeemed back to God and live a life of communion with Him through the gift of salvation. That is enough to encourage us all to glorify God.

The part of today’s Scripture that stands out to me the most says, “let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.” The key is we have to willingly seek the Lord. We can’t get distracted by what we see or feel. We can rejoice and be glad because we went from bound to free, from lost to found, from defeated to victorious. I could go on and on, but I will stop there. We serve an awesome and mighty God, and He loves us. On this thankful Thursday, let us rejoice and glorify our God!

Prayer:
Lord, help us seek You and rejoice in Your goodness always. Please keep our hearts, minds, and souls anchored in You and only You. Amen.
