“Let it Rain!”
Scripture: Joel 2:23 KJV

“Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.”

Devotion:
Bishop Paul Morton has a popular song that I love to keep in my playlist rotation. “Let it Rain,” is a powerful worship song. My favorite part of the song is when he says “open the floodgates of heaven, and let it rain.” If you have been in a drought before and you needed God to revive, restore, and replenish you, you know that there is something about that spiritual out-pour of rain when God sends it down. In today’s Scripture, the Prophet Joel was letting the people know that their drought was over, and that they could rejoice in the Lord because He was sending an abundance of rain. I don’t know about you, but with all that’s going on in this world, we could definitely use God’s rain to saturate this dry and desolate land with more of God’s love, peace, and joy. There are so many people suffering and hurting who feel hopeless, and we have to continue to pray and intercede for them. Lord, send Your healing rain to restore, renew, and revive. Let it rain! Let it rain! Let it rain!

Prayer:
Lord, we need Your rain; we need Your power; we need Your restoring strength to fall fresh on us, to cleanse, refresh, and restore us. Amen.
